I am currently based in KIS Almaty, Kazakhstan in the role of MYP PHE Teacher. In this role, I successfully redesigned, implemented and evaluated the whole school PHE programme with a deeper emphasis on Conceptual Based Curriculum Inquiry (CBCI) and producing a flowing conceptual arc for the school PHE and Sport curricula.

Additional Roles:

• Supervised MYP and DP students through their CAS projects and personal projects, and mentored students through the university application process.

• Coached Junior Varsity (U15) and Varsity (U19) football teams in both national and international football tournaments.

• Hosted KIS International Day 2025; a whole school community event in which I managed the organisation and structure of the day, as well as 'MC-ing' the day's festivities and events.

Head of PHE/PE (PYP & MYP), DP Sports Science Teacher, PYP Year 5 & 6 Lead Teacher, ATL Skills Coordinator

I worked in Tivat, Montenegro as the Head of PHE/PE and Athletics Director for all year groups in both the PYP and MYP IB programmes (Reception - Year 11). In this role, I successfully designed, formed, implemented and evaluated the whole school PHE/PE programmes from scratch. I was also the lead teacher for DP Sport, Exercise & Health Science (SEHS), delivering both current curricula to Year 12 and Year 13.

I previously worked as a Year 5 & 6 Teacher within the PYP/IB programme. As a part of this role as Year 5 & Year 6 teacher, I was responsible for the successful execution of the PYP Exhibition for Year 6 students, whilst also ensuring the effective lateral delivery of teaching & learning to both year groups. In my role as ATL Skills Coordinator, I ensure that effective collaboration throughout the school is present, in each of the PYP, MYP and DP programmes.

Additional Roles

• Worked as whole school ATL Skills Coordinator, leading and delivering staff training based on the delivery of ATL skills across each curricula. Ensured horizontal and vertical alignment of ATL Skills through staff training and documenting & reporting on whole programme ATL Skills in practice. 

• Hosted, led and delivered an international/globally accessed training course for educators via CEESA (Central & Eastern European Schools Association) based around distance learning and the immediate future of education, in the wake of the COVID19 global pandemic.

• Attended CEESA conference in Kiev, Ukraine to discuss and develop teaching strategies based around PYP, Agency and schoolwide educational development.

• Worked as the school 'Google Lead', leading and delivering training for staff in a variety of digital/online technology platforms as a result of the COVID19 Global Pandemic. Facilitated certified Google Training for all teaching staff.

• Worked as a member of the CIS Accreditation Team to ensure the school was prepared for the CIS accreditation process.

• Created resources, workshops and delivered content relevant to the PYP Exhibition inquiry, both for students and mentors in my role as PYP Exhibition Coordinator and lead Upper PYP teacher.

• Delivered a series of extra curricular activities for students from PYP, MYP and DP groups, specifically a Circuit Training club to help develop physical, mental and social fitness in students.

• Supervised MYP and DP students through their CAS projects and personal projects, and mentored students through the university application process.

• Voluntarily completed a series of Educare accredited training courses based around Child Protection and safeguarding, subsequently relaying information and training back to other members of staff.

• Organised and led a workshop alongside Nabil Al Busaidi (the first Arab to both reach the North Pole and to row across the Atlantic Ocean) to Primary aged students, based around inspirational actions and exploring the world.

• Formed long-term partnerships with outside providers, including; international sports and arts & craft group, Bushido Kids; elite gym and cycling coaching, Geoff Harper Fitness; Porto Montenegro Sports Group, as well as associated contacts in hospitality. These links were vital in developing the quality and quantity of the school's PE and Sport department, both for curricular and extra-curricular content.

Grade 6 Boys Teacher & Head of Proactivity (school-wide)

August 2017-July 2019

I worked in Muscat, Oman as a Grade 6 Teacher within the PYP/IB programme. In this role I gained a deeper understanding of international teaching and of different cultures within the school environment. Upon my Middle Leader Training (COBIS), I was appointed Head of Proactivity; a role involving liaising with school board members and implementing plans for whole school development based around the school’s ‘core values’.

Additional Roles

• Liaised with the Board of Trustees as Head of Proactivity and a member of the school Strategic Management Team in order to form, monitor and evaluate the implementation of long term strategies and practices related to the school mission statement and 'core values'.

• Completed two academic studies based around student leadership and proactivity throughout the school, analysing and evaluating results of the studies to find areas of success and areas for improvement within the school community.

Year 5 Teacher & Head of Sport & PE

September 2014-July 2017

I worked as a Primary School Teacher, teaching Year 5 as well as being in the role of PE Subject Lead for 2 years, managing the PE & Sport Department for my school (Hatton Hill Primary School, Sefton). As a teacher, I have supported a wide variety of pupils in developing their academic and social abilities, as well as many children with Special Educational Needs and other challenging backgrounds. As a trainee teacher, I was graded as ‘Outstanding’ and seek to maintain this perception of my ability in all that I do.

Additional Roles

• Planned, delivered and managed a variety of extra-curricular sports clubs for both Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, utilising my knowledge and experience as a sports specialist.

• Developed an ‘Inclusive Practice’ statement of commitment, in which I worked to close the gender gap within school sport, and feel that I have been extremely successful in doing so.

• Planned and monitored a whole school curriculum for both Key Stage 1 and 2, regularly assessing the effectiveness of our sporting delivery in light of the Olympic Legacy 2012.

• Managed a team of Sport staff (internal and external to the school) and financial budgets to ensure that all pupils experience the greatest level of support and teaching throughout their school careers.

PE & Sport Practitioner (voluntary)

September 2013-July 2014

I worked in a voluntary role as a PE & Sport Practitioner with children aged 7-11. In this role, I planned and delivered the majority of the PE curriculum throughout Key Stage 2 (volunteering 5 days a week for most of the academic year). After a few months of teaching in line with the existing PE school curriculum, the school leadership team asked me to assist in updating their curriculum (due to my interest and knowledge around school sport). I continued to deliver PE to the students, as well as occasionally leading lessons in PSHE and Science (relating to PE aspects such as healthy living) and assisting class teachers in other areas of the curriculum.

Additional Roles

• Planned and delivered a 10 week extra-curricular boxing club for Year 6 girls, in order to address the social stereotypes associated with girls and sport, as well as develop leadership and teamwork skills.

• Led pupils in a number of 3-day and 5-day character building residential trips to North Wales, supporting social development, teamwork and confidence building in pupils as they completed 'outward bounds' type activities.
